To Dr. Philip Walton, delivering high quality women’s health care demands more than skill and expertise of a dedicated doctor and surgeon. It demands a genuine interest in the particular needs of each individual patient. Dr.Walton has served as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St.Vincent’s Hospital and as President of the hospital’s medical staff. He provides gynecologic as well as primary care for his patients when needed. Dr.Walton has a particular interest in pelvic reconstruction surgery and preventative cardiology for women. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the American Medical Association.
A native of Gadsden, Dr.Walton received his Medical Degree and residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alabama School of Medicine.
He and his wife, Jane, have four children and eight grandchildren. To those eight he is known as “Doc”.
